It certainly would be an ugly affair, not that it isn't already, to pop off so to speak at Iran.
The rising price of oil is a serious drag -
"Every time there’s a tiff the price of oil inches above $65 a barrel, making the Iranian government a little bit richer still."
If the price is to rise (likely) Iran should profit in no way and you know this is possible.
I wish the U.S. was more aggressive in its support of anti-ahmadinejad-mullah groups inside Iran; but unfortunately it is not. The additional drag would be that we might get more of the same, not so much theocratically, but yet another tricky situation just the same.
Perhaps keeping Mujahadeen-e-Khalq (MEK) off the terrorist list would be helpful, but who knows.

Nice post and extremely thought provoking article by Frei – also thanks for the trackback; it caught me off guard – I’ll return the favor especially since this is good stuff.

It certainly would be an ugly affair, not that it isn’t already, to pop off so to speak at Iran.

The rising price of oil is a serious drag –

“Every time there’s a tiff the price of oil inches above $65 a barrel, making the Iranian government a little bit richer still.”

If the price is to rise (likely) Iran should profit in no way and you know this is possible.

I wish the U.S. was more aggressive in its support of anti-ahmadinejad-mullah groups inside Iran; but unfortunately it is not.
