mau i add my opinion fellas, 1st of all y are u attacking muslim opinions, when in fact neither, christianity nor judism support gays and gay marriages and so forth, because a very few percentages of countries in the world tolerate it, doesn’t mean tht the religions do..and the reason y 4 tht is tht gay is simply against human nature, frankly i dont care if some1 is gay, bec. in the end he is still human, however, it CANNOT be tolerated, especially gay marriage and ADOPTING children. and in the end, i respect the islamic culture, because, like i said, gays are still humans so it is indeed VERY lenient in the punishment of gays bec. they must be caught in the act and proven by FOUR eye witnesses, which is in the end very hard to prove, but again supporting gay marriage in the society is against any holy religion, not just islam!

Well of course you haven’t seen the conversion, it doesn’t exist.. but this is their rich culture. Like most societies based on religion, there doesn’t have to be a real reason for ANYTHING. Whatever comes from their book or their parents, they do… there is no questioning it. Why bother question it? IN societies like this, an individual does not have much power.

Homosexuals could protest for equal rights… but they would probably all be killed or locked up for that. Islam is quite good at making no one feel they are personally to blame. Killing people only became acceptable when people started doing it in the name of religion.

I am a gay man. Reading this has confirmed my worst suspicions, I’m saddened to say, about how Muslim nations treat their gay and lesbian citizens. The logic appears to go something like this:

Gay people (and especially male ones) are a huge threat to society because their sex lives are so irresistibly tempting that everyone will want to join them and stop having straight sex. The human race will end.

So we need to catch them and kill them.

We acknowledge that killing them is a little harsh, so we try to make it unusual through our special witness requirement. Nobody will lie that way.

You see no problem with this?

I frankly am not interested in picking apart every breathtakingly wrong assumption about homosexuality that this post contains. I will say that what gay and lesbian people apparently must endure is shameful at best and criminal at worst. It is a tragedy, in any case.

Oh, and one last thing. I have never, not once in my life, witnessed the dreaded Homosexual Conversion that the society you describe is so – I’m sorry – paranoid about. And I’ve lived in some pretty gay places. Have you ever seen one? Has anyone? What, exactly, would such an event look like?

I already told you that in Islm sodomy is NOT tolerated. It is hard to PROVE it but when it is then the homosexual is in deep trouble. Almost always its the death penalty. I support this law because we dont want homosexuals in our community and we dont want it to spread becaue it threatens the existence of man. If one IS a homosexual then he should practice it in secret so that others dont turn into homosexuals. But if he goes around committing sodomy openly, others can get attracted to it, turn into homosexuals also and it corrupts the society and makes it indecent. For this reason if a person openly commits sodomy then its certain that the government will find out and execute the person so that others dont do it openly.

Now you can see that Egypt openly and regularly executes homosexals. Well tell me how the government found out. You can see that the men used to gather on a boat. They commit sodomy openly, people risk turning homosexuals themselves and so to prevent that the government prosecutes them. Even though they would know that the law does not allow sodomy, they still commit it in public. I dont understand what the problem is with executing them in hat case.

I am not saying that Islamic law deals leniently with homosexuals. Its just that it is lenient in proving the crime. After it has been proven, the criminal is in deep trouble.

For example. A community has 100 people. Out of them are homosexuals while the rest are normal. If these four homosexuals secretly satisfy themselves, no one finds out. When no one finds out, no one gets attracted to homosexuality. And the government also cannot prove their guilt. This is the system of Sharia. If you have a desire towards the same sex then satisfy it secretly. Dont help it in spreading to others.
But if these 4 people start going on ships and commit sodomy openly then the government can easily prove that they committed sodomy. In this case they can punish them with death. Their openness helped in corrupting the society. Its that simple.

I dont know about the specific laws of each country but my guess is that they dont tolerate proven sodomy.

Sorry… this is not intended to be a flame… but that post is the biggest bunch of bullsh*t I have read in a long long time. It is also misguided and totally avoids disucssing all of the most current psychological and medical research concerning homosexuality: which refutes all of the baseless religious dogma this writer puts in his post. And as far as the “leniency” of Middle East countries toward homosexuals, it’s a fantasy of the writer, totally unrealistic… check out the following articles for more… do a web search… read a newspaper… the Arab world is cruel and inhumane in the way it treats gay and lesbian people….
