10 Things Much Worse Than Same-Sex Marriage (But Are Totally Legal)
Killing Abortion Providers

South Dakota incurred the wrath of pro-choice folks worldwide when it introduced a bill in March that would have categorized the murder of abortion providers as “justifiable homicide”. Due to massive outrage and political pressure, the bill has been shelved indefinitely. Insane pro-lifers haven’t called it quits though: Nebraska has recently introduced a similar bill into its state legislature.
Indefinite Imprisonment

Under current immigration and terrorism laws, it is now legal to indefinitely imprison someone without charging them. This has kept immigrants in detention centers and suspected “terrorists” in Guantanamo Bay, with some prisoners being kept for years without trial.
Torture

The UN’s Convention Against Torture, and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment states that:
No exceptional circumstances whatsoever, whether a state of war or a threat of war, internal political instability or any other public emergency, may be invoked as a justification of torture.
Crystal clear, you’d think. So why does the US allow cruel and unusual punishments of Iraqi insurgents, military whistle-blowers, and detainees?
