"Only 6 million Iraqies? Isn’t it more like 30 million Iraqis?"
26 million and some change to be exact! Don't know where I pulled the 6 million out of my head.
"Alec’s post was not about Iraq, but about Germany…"
I was not commenting on the article. I was defending Rosemary from the Poetryman. Poetry man chastized Rosemary for believing that the U.S. liberated Iraq.

Joerg,

“Only 6 million Iraqies? I don't know what you are laughing at. I wholeheartedly agree with Rosemary: the U.S. liberated 6 million Iraqies from a Secular faciist, who end the end, was toying with Islamo-facisim to prop up his corrupt, failing regiem.
I would log on to Iraqi blogs and read some Iraqi opinion. If you have tunel vision and only listen to the opinion of the Trans-Atlantic, old guard, left elite, then poll any Shite, Kurd or Christian Iraqi and ask them if getting rid of Saddam was not a good thing.
Getting rid of Saddam and his henchman was a good thing.
Exposing the corrupt UN Food for oil program and Security Counsil duplicity in taking kick backs from it...was a good thing.
Killing Zarkawi, whose Al Quida terror cell was always based in Iraq, most likely with Saddam's tacit approval...was a good thing.
Getting the Iraqi economy going again....was a good thing.
Finding the recently disclosed weapons of Mass Destruction (Over 500 chemical artililary rounds)....was a good thing.
Finding out who our true friends in the world are.....was a good thing.

Poetryman,

I don’t know what you are laughing at. Forgive me if I am reading your comment incorrectly, but are you suggesting that we went into Iraq to "liberate" the Iraqi people? LOL indeed!

Rosemary,<br

We understood Germany, for some reason. At least we did not resent your decision not to fight for democracy. You know, liberating the Iraqi people.
I just hope you will agree with us if it becomes necessary to defend the poor Darfurians. It has been too long since they have needed our help. Have a great day.

Great post!
