A watched pot never boils.

I just want everyone to know that I went start to finish with a pot of boiling water and that saying is false.  Let me know some other cute witticims that I should debunk while I have tons of time on my hands.

Also, today I taught a 3rd grade class the American ABCs to practice standing in front of class. I feel that it went well.  Here´s to practice!

    Hi Lucian, my Loushie Wooshie,
Just read some of your latest blogs. Looks like things are stating to happen. I hear you are very close to getting your own space. I bet you can’t wait. I bet those third grade students loved having you as your teachers since all kids love to be around you. Hey Lucian, sing them a Spanish song. Did you know that Jilian is putting a crown on Uncle John’s tooth? She gave him an injection and drilled the old filling out. She said, “Uncle Johnny you really must love me to let me do this to you”. I know he does. You know Lucian that we all love you. I miss you very, very much.
    Until next time..
    Love,
    Grandma\

    Hey Lucian,
I just reserved the Hotel Brandt and Camino Real. So, this is very exciting; five more weeks. You sure have a great stay planned for us. I’m anxious to see pictures of your new space once you get all set up. Be sure to get them to us when you have finished moving in and setting up. I don’t have a lot to say since we just spoke a few hours ago. Although, i wanted to comment to your blog nontheless. I’ll get the magazines in the mail in a few days. You take care and I love you!!!

    Hey Kid,
sounds like youre just humming along. I’m working on a project for ya… hope it’s not one of the many I start and never seem to finish. ha!

Hey, I went sleding this week. I suffered from “only child” flashbacks though, no one wanted to go down the hill with me. SSO I went myself, my goodness, I havent laughed and screamed so loud in so long- only went in the road once, ate snow to keep out of the road the following times. ha! It was one of the little disc things, not really a real sled.

Oh of course it was during this during the work hours. hahaha. I finally talked Keiths son Dixon to go down the hill with me once. Walking up the hill he asked if I have been doing this all day, my reply …”on and off ” with lots of laughter in there. ha.

    k, love ya!

    Hey Wu!
Happy Valentines Day. Your card will be getting there late. I had the best intentions last week, although it would of been late anyways, but i was sick. I woke up puking and with the rea cha cha cha. I get my shots in a week and last time I was home I packed up some summer clothes. So I should be reasy to go! I bet you did wonderful with the ABC’s. It took me a long time to memorize the alphabet in espanol so if you can teach third graders and they catch on- good for you!!!
Nothing else to new here. I have my Winter Formal this weekend and then I am going to DC Sat night b/c Rachael will be visiting from Portland. I have not seen her since she moved out west so i am really excited!
    Over and out, Love ya!!!

Ciao, Luciano! I liked the watched pot bit, you are very funny… Time is dragging on for me as well, but not because I have so much time my hands…I am just counting the days for school to finish. It’s like being a student again. So, new and exciting things: I just returned from Madrid. I took 3 days off plus a weekend and met my beautiful Italian boy for a rondevu. It was fabulous! I didn’t realize how much Madrid is a haven for art. We also went to a hamam (a Turkish bath) one late night. It was incredible. There were 3 different pools: one body temp, one hot, one cold, plus a sauna and a tea room. I could have lived in there. It was underground and very mysterious. Have you ever seen the film Il Bagno Turko? Okay, it’s an Italian film set in Turkey but there are English subtitles and it’s really fascinating. When you return, check it out. The nightlife in Madrid was exciting and very happening as well, but we were so tired that we never made it to the late night discos–next time.
Well, it is late for me since tomorrow is a school day. Adios amigos!
    Kisses,
    Marena

    Lucian,

I just looked over 371 of your photos and read some of your latest comments. It sounds like your finding your place/niche and are making a difference. I’m guessing by now those around you get what a huge heart you have. I’d like to think your getting love from both Americas.

All is well over here. Keep up the good work. Love you.

    Hey kid,

Just a quick note this morning. I’m takin’ it slow this moring so
I’m a bit behind on the moring routine… like breakfast for the furry crew. ha!

Look like the “rodent” aka groundhog, may have been right, even if it’s only the 19th time he has NOT seen his shadow since the early 80′s. Shadow or no shadow spring will always be around the corner. This seems that the weight of winter dissipates like thick black clouds that seem to hover for pleasure. ha!

The sun has been making it’s may thru the wind and light clouds, yet you have to stand very still to feel it’s warmth. Soon we will be like you, the warmth of the sun will drive us to shade.

Dad’s birthday was the 19th of this month. This is longer then he said he expected to live. He’s doing okay, actually he’s doing very well. A bit disrespectfull of mom, but again he is a man of rockbridge county.

Maggie is doing well. She’s a bit unsteady on her feet at times, and refuses to use a cane. Wish she was a self confident as Ms. Millie.

Mom, she’s hanging in there. Irene and Sharol have been a great help. Maggie has spent a few weekends with them.

OH OH, I meant to tell you that “A watched pot never boils” actually means to put a lid on the pot so it boils sooner. haha. But you know this and you were just making a funny ha ha.

k, gotta get started with the day.

Love Ya! but you already know that too.

Sorry haven’t been keeping up, sometimes I forget that Nicaragua actually exists and then I remeber that your there so it becomes more than just an abstract concept. I don’t know if I am understanding this correctly, but are you actually building your own “house?” Can you have your cake and eat it too? Is the grass actually greener on the other side? Is one bird in the hand really worth two in the bush? And well you have access to livestock and time on your hands, why don’t you untangle that whole chicken and egg conundrum. Me, Amy, and the dog (Jackson) send our best wishes for your success and continued well being. As an addition and in response to your request to send along bits of reading that I find interesting I decided to send some marriage/ relationship propaganda your way, this passage is from The Good Soldier by Ford Maddox Ford (like a rock, squared):
“the real fierceness of desire, the real heat of a passion long continued and withering up the soul of a man is the craving for identity with the woman that he loves. He desires to see with the same eyes, to touch with the same sense of touch, to hear with the same ears, to lose his identity, to be enveloped, to be supported. For, whatever may be said of the relation of the sexes, there is no man who loves a woman that does not desire to come to her for the renewal of his courage, for the cutting asunder of his difficulties. And that will be the mainspring of his desirefor her. We are all so afraid, we are all so alone, we all so need from the outside the assurance of our own worthiness to exist.”
Take care and read the book that I sent you (the one that is not The Giving Tree), I want feedback.
