As of the writing of this blog entry, I am not only alive, but very well. It seems that I have one of the more robust Gastro-intestinal tracks in my group. I have either not been exposed to a parasite, or they are no match for the killing power of my immune system. Mom, I don´t know what you fed me as a child but I want the recipe.
My spanish has also been improving, things are coming to me without as much work and I am starting to understand what they hell they are saying in the Reggetón Jams. Once I get studying on my grammar I expect even more gains. Perhaps I will understand what the chavalos and ancianos are saying to me. Ojala.
Lastly and most importantly, I would like to thank everyone who thought about me on my birthday. I will do my best to send thank yous but I am pretty bad about getting them out. Usually I sit down to write them and I am distracted but some ungodly insect or a chavalo so forgive me. I am looking forward to my visit back home for the wedding! We will have fun, oh yes.
So, Happy Birthday Lucian. Guess I missed it even though your mom is good about reminders. You see I am tech, challenged and still have difficulty getting to your blog. Love to you always.

I hope you continue to stay well. You have insides like Grampa, not necessarily what you ate as a child (ha ha). We are all getting very excited about the wedding; everyone getting together and especially getting the bonus of having you there as well. Your entire family is anxious to see you; so, get ready. Let me know how your projects are coming. Also, I am very pleased about your Spanish. Hey, I may have the opportunity to go to Costa Rica this summer to plan for an exchange. I hope that works out. All is well here. Not much to tell… other then - all are healthy. Your family came in for Easter, nice treat, and your mom did the cooking… very tastee… shrimp and pasta, but her pasta with meatballs and sauce will always rank high on my favorite list!

Happy Late Birthday! (sorry) Things are going well here…I’m glad to hear that immune system of yours is strong!! I love you sooooo much and I think about you often. Andrew and I are moving into a townhouse this week and I’m finishing up school, so things are busy. We have to practice some spanish together when you come home for Todd’s wedding! guess what you are coming home in amonth… i feel like i havent talked to you in forever… sorry i have been MIA. i have this week and next week of school and then i am done and off to aruba and spain and then you come home… i got my apt in nyc all squared away. it is near union square. i got ascholarship at school so that will really help with my busy summer… other than that nothing else is new… i ahev to admit that i am happy that you are not bringing a date to the wedding… that way we can hang out together more… ok love ya lots

Hey Lucian! Looking forward to seeing you at the wedding! Grandma & I were just talking about how cute you were at Nadine’s wedding. We were guessing you were about 6 or 7 years old. Mi corazon! I’ve been thinking about you a lot lately! I miss you and I can’t wait to see you at Todd’s wedding! I’ve got a thousand hugs and kisses waiting for you!! Your photo to your Mom for Mother’s Day even got me teary-eyed. I’m such a sap! You are such a good son. The next picture, you just need a big old cigar so we will know you have become 100% Fidel Castro and not just the approximate 73% in the photo. Please be careful not to acclimate to the Latin American culture so much that we don’t recognize you any longer. Becoming the dictator of Nicaragua some day may be fun, but we like the old Lucian better. Plus, it doesn’t take much for “W” to want to haul off and send troops somewhere- so be careful! Glad to know you are headed home soon. I hope you get to make the rounds at HHS so we can all get hugs! Safe travels!
