With the usual pomp and circumstance we stood, walked down the line, shook the right hands, and emerged as volunteers. I have taken pictures of the Ceremony and the befores and afters and I will steal some more from other volunteers as well. Yes I have a mustache in the pictures but all of medio ambiente decided to grow ‘em so enjoy while it lasts! I am uploading as we speak so you early birds shouldn’t hassel me.

Congratulations!!!
I’m so proud of you and what you have accomplished thus far. This is the first event in your life that I have not been physically present, but I know that you know I was there in spirit. I thought of you many times today and am just thrilled for the update and the pictures. Your mustache reminds me so much of the photo you have in your room of Grandpa. You look great!!

Oh, my, Lucian I have tears in my eyes looking at those photos!!!! No, not because the mustache is questionable on you — actually, you look quite dashing with it — sort of like Dudley Doo-right of the Mounties meets The Godfather!!!! Awesome! No, the tears were just sentimental ones — it was fabulous to see you with your Peace Corps buds getting all sworn in and such. Know your mom and pop wish they could have been there. You have to know how amazingly proud they, and everyone else, are of you right at this moment.

Congratulations Lucian!! Most people spend their whole lives trying to figure out what their purpose in life is and you seem to have already figured it out. Very impressive! We love you and are extremely proud of you. Not much new here. Still busy working on the house. The rate we are going we should be all settled in by time you return from your journey with the peace corp!! Your two little cousins are keeping me busy and coffee is my new best friend. We’re very proud of you, even with the stache! Amee and I are at your folks place tonight, staying over on our way to Ohio for Thanksgiving.
