hostages and political prisoners can be distinct for two reasons. first, release may be explicitly conditional for hostages, while political prisoners are more likely to receive fixed term sentences. second, political prisoners are more likely to have been selected based on some action (the “crime”), while hostages tend to be selected in a more arbitrary fashion.
obviously the degree of distinction varies. on the minority side (ie those taking hostages) any kind of due process or statutory sentence may be completely impractical. but these distinctions can be used to assess the quality of the majority (state / those with political prisoner). so you can judge “how much better than terrorists” a state is by considering whether political prisoners are processed according to law and generally treated on equal terms with other “criminals”.
on your other two points, i agree with your implicit case that the difference is minimal.
The answer is obvious.

The non-terrorist is on he right.

Well this is pretty easy I think.
1)Everyone knows that terrorists are left handed.
2)Hostages always look to the door for rescue, while political prisoners look to the corner to the left, and hang their heads in shame.
3)Clearly the Nationalists are on the right, as the put the women in the center of their group. Every patriotic citizen KNOWS it goes Flag, then Man, then Woman. Jeez, its so simple.
Anybody fighting the occupation against the US is a terrorist, anybody fighting against a muslim goverment or a goverment the US doesn’t like is a freedom fighter (ie Iraq and sudan)
Consequently anybody inprisoned by muslim fighters are hostages, even if they are enemy soldiers who have been caught in muslim territory (ie Israelly soldiers ‘kidnapped by Hizbullah) Israel and America may kidnap ANYBODY-men, wome and children-people who have NO affiliations with any group whatso ever and they are called -well not even political prisoners, far as I know even political prisoners have rights but the US prisoners do not have ANY rights-just like hostages the US prisoner’s fate is tied to the whims of their captors, there is no sign of justice or rule of law when it comes to these prisoners. They have no hope and many of them have just disappeared and thier captors will not even acknowledge their whereabouts.
As for the last category anybody who is pro zionist ie most citizens of Israel, USA, UK, India etc are categorised as patriotic any one against the zionist causes is categorised as a fanatic. (brings to mind the hindu gencide of muslims in Gujraat but which was never publicised by the MSM nor did the world see the brutal pictures that people near to the crime scene saw. No one talks about the ISraeli fanatics who make no secret of the fact that they’d like to see palestine cleaned of all arabs)
ITs no suprise since zionists control more than 95% of the worlds media and muslims hae almost no voice. So who is evil and who is good will be decided by the zionists and thus live and die accordingly.
