God forbid the MSM actually reports stories that matter to the people, country and the environment. Doing that goes against a good chunk of their sponsors, wouldn’t it? Screw journalism, there’s money to be made.
The problem is the mainstream media is considered commercial television. A channel such as Fox News finds that its profits (mainly from advertisers) are directly proportional to the number of viewers they are able to capture. As a result, they simply create programming that reflects what the majority of people want to hear about, which, in this country’s case, happens to be celebrities, drama and conflict. It’s all supply and demand, really.
If you want real journalism, try watching PBS instead.
