It is unfortunate that in the times of hardship that folks resort to racist tatics. Hilary Clinton, is attempting to use her white, religious, priveledge to gain votes. No she will not get them as a woman, so she is going with that angle. She knows that perception is everything. She refuses to back down from the mis-information regarding the religious practice of Barack Obama, Why? Because she is banking on Americans who have issues with the Muslim faith because of the propaganda we have been handed down from the government regarding this religion (9/11/2001). She is essentially in bed with George W.Bush with allowing that fallacy to continue. In terms of the racist comments that Ferraro made, Clinton believes it too, that is why she won't "denounce" it. She is banking on white America to tap into their unspoken racism, and for black folks to tap into their internalized racism, and for other ethinic minorities to buy in to the hype and take on the same biases as the tidbits get thrown out there. Both of them should read the Peggy Macintosh article "White Privledge: Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack". Both need to check their motivations, and think about if their comments stated or unstated are continuing to rip apart the already divided "United States of America".
