Pat Robertson: And you know, Christy, something happened a long time ago in Haiti, and people might not want to talk about it, they were under the heel of the French, uh, you know, Napoleon the third and whatever, and they got together and swore a pact to the devil, they said, we will serve you, if you get us free from the Prince, true story. And so the devil said, ‘OK, it’s a deal.’ And they kicked the French out, the Haitians revolted and got themselves free, and ever since they have been cursed by one thing after the other, desperately poor. . . the Island of Hispaniola is one island cut down the middle. On the one side is Haiti, on the other side is the Dominican Republic. Dominican Republic is, is, prosperous, healthy, full of resorts, etc. Haiti is in desperate poverty, same Islands, uh, they need to have, and we need to pray for them, a great turning to God. And out of this tragedy, I’m optimistic something good may come, but right now we’re helping the suffering people, and the suffering is unimaginable.

God is loving and compassionate. However, God does allow tragic events to happen. And sometimes He even lets some of us in on it before it does. For example, if you look at the twitter account for wonwitness you will see that this person was telling that an earthquake was going to hit North America. On Jan. 7 Wonwitness wrote:
“What I am hearing: “The Heavens and Earth will proclaim My glory. I Am preparing My staff for a great blow on this continent–North America.”
I believe the L-rd has spoken to me that a great earthquake will hit North America. I think the great earthquake may hit in the time August/September of this year or 2011. I am unsure of the time. I must spend more time in prayer and listen.
However, sometimes the L-rd will confirm the word He gives me by allowing a smaller version of the prophecy to be fulfilled first. I would not be surprised if we saw an earthquake in North America sometime soon as a confirmation, or perhaps even two smaller shakes as confirmations. If this is from the L-rd, He will confirm it and it will come to pass.”
Then an earthquake hit CA and then Haiti.
