The Walton family–Walmart owners and heirs–boasts the same wealth as the bottom 40% of the American population. As it happens, this family is one of the nation’s wealthiest and one of the country’s largest welfare recipients, since employee wages are so low that they require state aid to live decently. Vermont firebrand Bernie Sanders and former labor secretary Robert Reich take the subject matter to task in this hearing with the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research.
