air

air…air
hit me in the face
i run faster
faster into the air
(i say to myself)
what is happening to my skin?
where is that protection that i needed?
air can hurt you too
air can hurt you too
some people say not to worry about the air
some people never had experience with…

air… air
it can break your heart
so remember when the weather gets rough
(you’ll say to yourself)
what is happening to my skin?
where is that protection that i needed?
air can hurt you too
air can hurt you too
some people say not to worry about the air
some people don’t know shit about the…
air…

It was odd but as i read that I kept seeing Wile E. Coyote and the Roadrunner. Wile E. Coyote was falling through the air and the Roadrunner, who, as far as I recollect never said anything but beep beep, was telling Wile E. Coyote to not worry…“The air won’t hurt you”.

    Beep! Beep!

Those are actually talking heads lyrics that I have been pondering… I was hoping for some feedback… i figured it to center on weather as a metaphor for the rollercoaster of life and skin as resiliancy to depression… but you never really know with The Heads.

Talking Heads confuse me on numerous levels, and frankly, I have NO idea what Bryne is referencing those lyrics. My guess is something around the lines of ‘I’m not doing anything with myself but it still hurts’ — a negative relationship with stagnation as a human.
