More Sex, Less HIV?

In her research, epidemiologist Elizabeth Pisani discovered that in some countries, an increase in premarital sex amongst girls resulted in a decrease in men exposed to HIV. In this video she explains why.

    So the girls having more sex before they’re married with their boyfriends *prevents* HIV from spreading, but I don’t understand how having *more* sex prevents HIV. I guess it means they *can* have more sex without getting HIV?
