    McCain has stumbled out of the gate on this important issue, and Obama doesn’t appear to be cutting him any slack. McCain has done an excellent job of deflecting the Democrat “McCain = Bush” line of attack, but “the fundamentals of our economy are strong” is something George Bush himself has been quoted as saying.
